Water Quality
Water quality is a prime concern for everyone. Water testing is done five times a year and samples are collected at 12 locations around the lake. The sampling has been done since 2006. Lake Murray is considered to have good water quality. We want to make sure that doesn’t change. LMA will continue the testing program and working directly with Dominion and SC Dept of Environmental Services to monitor and discuss issues effecting the lake.
Recreation
Lake Murray is used for fishing, boating and aquatic activities. LMA works directly with SC DNR, and the law enforcement and emergency responders in Lexington, Richland, Newberry and Saluda counties to help keep the lake safe for all users.
Education
LMA holds a quarterly meeting in each of the four counties to provide members with information and give them a chance to ask questions. Dominion, DNR and local law enforcement personnel are there to provide answers to those questions.
LMA provides presentations on topics that cover safety, aquatic vegetation, the lake level, activities that impact the lake and other topics of interest to our members. Additionally, LMA publishes Lake Links quarterly to provide more information.
LMA is a registered 501(c)3 public charity and is operated by volunteers. All donations are tax deductible and 100% of the funds are used for its mission.
Donations can be made by credit card at the Zeffy link or by mail.
